If you’re new to Reformer Pilates, get ready to discover a delightful way of moving that makes your body feel good.

Merrithew Reformers are unique and specialized pieces of fitness equipment that use spring resistance to provide an exercise experience unlike any other.

By adjusting the spring tension, you can provide more support or increase the challenge of each move, depending on your fitness level and exercise goals. That makes the Reformer a highly customizable and adaptable piece of equipment for a diverse range of needs and abilities, from rehab to athletic conditioning.

Before you begin your workout, we encourage you to read about the STOTT PILATES® Principles to ensure you get the most out of your workout and perform the exercises safely and effectively.

Once you’re ready to start moving, check out these three exercises demonstrated and cued by Merrithew Instructor Trainer Rouxchelle Denton-Cooke, owner of Merrithew Host Training Center DC Movement Lab in the Gold Coast, Australia.

Rouxchelle guides you through a Footwork exercise to warm-up the lower body and mobilize the hips, knees and ankle joints, then a couple positions from the Mid-Back Series to activate the triceps, core and hip flexors, and ends with a relaxing Mermaid stretch to mobilize the spine through lateral flexion and lengthen the obliques.
